Erect a Book Barricade
On May 18th, Parisians will celebrate the anniversary of the Paris Commune in a non-conventional way. Everybody is welcome to bring his books in order to erect a giant book barricade. Special guests will sing songs about the Commune and hold lectures about this part of French History.
After the demo, books will be given to « Bibliothèques sans Frontières » (libraries without borders), a non-profit organisation which goal is to provide books to developing countries.

The Commune was the result of an uprising in Paris after France was defeated in the Franco-Prussian War. The city was briefly autonomously ruled and a socialist government was formed.
